Self Employed Visa For Canada

The Self-employed Persons Program permits self-employed individuals to come to Canada permanently.

If you are interested in this program, you must have the following qualifications:

Appropriate experience in cultural activities or athletics; and
Be willing and able to make a substantial contribution to Canada’s cultural or athletic life.

Eligibility
To immigrate as a self-employed individual, you must have the following qualifications:
- Appropriate experience
- Willingness and ability to work for yourself in Canada
- Fulfill the program’s selection standards, as well as medical, security, and other requirements
- Relevant work experience
Your experience is applicable if you have:
- Participated in world-class cultural activities or athletics, or
- Been a self-employed person in cultural activities or athletics.
Definitions
A self-employed person must have at least two years of relevant experience.
It must take place between 5 years before the day you apply and the day we make a decision on your application.

You can get extra points if you have three, four, or five years of experience.
Your experience must include at the very least:
- For cultural activities: a. two one-year periods of self-employment in cultural activities, or b. two one-year periods of world-class participation in cultural activities, or c. a combination of a one-year period described in (a) and a one-year period described in (b) (b)
- For athletics: a. two one-year periods of self-employment in athletics, or b. two one-year periods of world-class athletic participation, or c. a combination of a one-year period described in (a) above and a one-year period described in (b) above.
